Mark Clipper does not collect, transmit, or sell any of your data. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, and no API keys.

What the extension reads

To capture page content, Mark Clipper reads the page you are currently viewing — its text, tables, and metadata — at the moment you click a capture button. It can read any page you visit because it auto-follows your active tab; this is what lets the side panel always capture the page in front of you. Reading a page is not the same as sending it anywhere. Nothing read from a page is uploaded.

What the extension stores

Your editor content is saved on your own computer using the browser’s local storage (storage.local). This stays on your machine, is never synced to any account or cloud, and survives a browser restart. You can clear it at any time with the Clear button, or by removing the extension.

What leaves your machine

Only what you choose to send. When you use “Copy & Open,” the extension copies text to your clipboard and opens an AI chat in a new tab — you paste it yourself. The extension never auto-submits anything and never makes network requests of its own.
